PGA P&O Camp- don't really know how to do it justice but it was more than amazing. And it definitely was the best Guides training camp I've ever been to- I don't know if it was the same for the campers (but I really hope so), because it really was for me.
There are so many things we've been doing wrongly, in every aspect that was covered during this camp, and there's no time for anger, no time for annoyance, because we've got to pass it down. We've got to teach our juniors everything we learnt during this camp, everything that's proper, conventional, traditional.
And even though the most practical purpose of that would be so that they'll do things right during HQ things, there's so much more to that- it isn't a nice feeling realising that there are so many things you've learnt wrongly, not been taught, never heard of (especially when you know that the "wrong" things have been passed through so many generations without anyone knowing it was wrong because how can all you've known be wrong?), and I don't want them to pass down the wrong skills, to realise that there have been seniors who have known the right ways but they've heard nothing, to realise that what they've been doing all this while is wrong?
And I can't wait, honestly. :)
Camp was amazing amazing amazing :) :) :) :) The ten of us worked so well together, and like what Ms Ng said- there was no competition, everyone just helped each other non-stop, because we could. Didn't have anymore than a total of 30 minutes of rest time throughout the day, before we slept (excluding all the staying up on purpose), and it felt... good. To be constantly in action, doing things for the camp, doing things to make the camp work.
And doing things knowing that everyone else was, too, and that's why, despite all our bites, itches, blisters, aches (back, legs, stomach, head, name it and we have it) we worked like shit hahahaha.
You guys are the best camp staff I could have ever asked for - it's amazing how we have so many different personalities (but mostly centering around Weird and Blur) but we work so well together, we have so much fun, and after only four days of properly knowing each other, we leave feeling like friends, being able to laugh at each other, with each other, inside jokes and retarded aims and whatnot.
I love you guyssss.
Will never forget: red sky, green ponchos, Ms Ng's card, plan to never fall asleep, falling asleep even earlier than previous nights, moonlit romantic night walking, kitchen shelter in two and a half hours, heated shower heads over toilet walls, three night sleeping in lodge (due to Awesomeness, definitely), circling plates full of food (and one minute of eating that lasts forever), bad vegetables taste okay with good fish, mass stomachache after having salad for breakfast, feet completely wrinkled in blister-shaped things (due to lousy shoes and water influx), singing songs, cutting paper, laughing at gigantic cups with gigantic portions, Eating, Eating, Eating So Much, south african apples, spanish mandrin oranges (?!?), laughing, and ahhhh so many things :') :') :')
